The holy place of worship for the Moslems is called a mosque. With the spread of the Islamic religion came wealth and prosperity. This was soon reflected in the more elaborately designed mosques. It was through the architecture of the mosque, a magnificent arched courtyard with domed fountains and minarets [towers from which the faithful are called to worship], that they made their best known artistic contribution.
This is one of Hatouf's own designs, a lovely synthesis of minarets and domes in soft blues with a sprinkling of yellow and red for flavor.
