a Turkish miniature painting of the Ottoman Empire (Topkapi Museum, Istanbul,
Turkey) depicting the ascension of Christ into Heaven. In the lower part
of the painting we see his apostles discovering Christ's empty tomb.
- Intricate patterning of the clothing and buildings, stylized
figures, and rich coloration are all hallmarks of traditional Islamic painting.
