CLOSEUP OF OWEN "Gabe and Owen Next to Pond" oil on canvas, 44" x 42" Commission Price , copyright 2004 This is another portrait of the artist's sons.  In this outdoor portrait Gabe is 7 and Owen is 4 years old.  Some children become shy of the camera at about this age.  Profiles and subjects interacting with one another are wonderful ways to immortalize a childhood transition.

Naturally, portraits in which Christy is able to meet with the subject, set up her own poses, and take photographs herself are preferable.  Portraits based on this type of preparation allow the artist to chose the most natural but still aesthetically pleasing poses. More importantly, a meeting between the artist and her portrait subjects allows the artist to recognize immediately a likeness when she has achieved it in one of her portraits. But be aware that if for some reason a sitting cannot be arranged, Christy can work with your existing photos.
