We realize that many of our collectors are investors who want their art to appreciate in value as time goes by. Original art has always been a good investment because it is a unique commodity. However, for this art to increase in value someone else has to be willing to pay more than you paid for it.
One key element to an artist's financial success is exposure. The more people see his/her work, the more interested buyers emerge. If the artist's work is getting more and more exposure the demand for his/her work increases. As the demand for this artist's work rises, he/she has to ask higher prices just to keep some work in his galleries. This means that the artist can now produce fewer pieces to make a living. With demand up and production down, the value of each collector's piece rises as well. Acceptance into Young Artist's Gallery means the artist automatically gains international exposure through the internet.
We want our Gallery to become a respected resource for Collectors featuring only artists with exceptional talent and the devotion and perseverance to excel in their field. How do we spot this human investment? The same way we approach any other investment: by the artist's track record. The fewer "yeses" to the questions below, the cheaper the price and the riskier the investment.
2. Does the artist fit in historically? Where? Who are the artist's major influences? Check each artist's history page.
3. Does the artist have the motivation and stamina to succeed? (The artist has dedicated him/her self to the art profession and/or has continued his/her devotion to his/her work over a period of years.) Check for this on the Artist Bio page.
4. Do people respond to this work? (The very best artist's work is not only technically flawless, but is also able to convey to the viewer the artist's feelings about the subject. It's like a great actor weeping on the screen and everyone in the audience fumbles for their handkerchiefs. That's why critics use terms like "cold detachment" or "lack of feeling" when describing a piece they don't appreciate.) We automatically eliminate all applicants that we find lacking in this area.
E-mail us at <youngartists@youngartists.com>. Be sure to specify the name of the artist, the piece or pieces you are interested in, and the price. We will respond immediately via e-mail or phone and snail-mail you a sales contract. After we receive your signed contract and check we will contact the artist with shipping instructions. The artist will ship the piece to Young Artists Gallery. We will open and inspect the piece here before repackaging and sending it on to you. You are only responsible for shipping and handling from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Please open and inspect your new artwork for possible shipping damage before sending away the carrier. Their insurer will not be responsible for damage unless you notify the carrier immediately.
The price you see listed below each enlargement covers everything but shipping and handling fees. Frames are not included with your painting unless specified in writing next to the price on its enlargement page. Arkansas Residents will be charged sales tax.
Each buyer will be asked to sign a sales contract detailing the responsibilities of all parties in the purchase. Buyer's responsibilities include shipping and handling fees, sales tax for Arkansas residents, and agreement to artist rights to copyright, and future access to his/her work for photographic sessions as well as a limited number of exhibitions. To preview a sales contract see Sample Contracts.
