This figure study in watercolor, scanned in at actual size, reveals the artist's mastery of the medium. With a large flat brush and an Indian red wash he has gestured in the entire figure with just a few strokes. He then adds form to the base of the head with Payne's gray, and a bathing suit and grass in viridian. Finally, Mike further defines the outer edge of the figure with a light wash of Antwerp blue.
