This landscape with figures is a study of the variety of textures Mike Young can quickly represent using one brush. The lush shoreline was created by layering several different washes in a variety of patterns. The ripples on the lake and ground were painted using just the outside edge of the brush. The sunbathers were painted using the full width of the brush in a range of calligraphic strokes.
