Turtles out sunning themselves on logs are a common sight on Arkansas lakes. They seem so vulnerable to us, perched out on a limb, their silhouettes clearly visible against sky reflecting waters, with no probable means of escape. But the turtles aren't worried because they know they can dive into those waters with very unturtle-like speed. The quiet serenity of this piece is its predominate appeal.
